Bedfordshire Music at the Royal Albert Hall
This year Bedfordshire Music are celebrating their 40th anniversary and on 15 April 2007, will be performing 'To the Stars' at The Royal Albert Hall. All seven of our County orchestras and concert bands will be taking part along with Bedfordshire Advanced Percussion Programme, South Beds Youth Voices, East Beds Youth Chorus and Sounds Ceremonial, our trumpet choir.
There will also be a massed choir of over 500 singers from Bedfordshire lower and middle schools, who will be accompanied by the Festival Orchestra, specially brought together from local upper schools for this event. There will be a total of nearly 1500 performers taking part!
County Councillor Richard G Baker BEM, Chairman of Bedfordshire County Council said: "It is wonderful that our talented group of young people have this great opportunity to perform in the well known Royal Albert Hall. I am quite sure that these young people will remember this occasion forever."
The night will be hosted by Kevin Whately and a charity collection on behalf of the NSPCC will take place during the interval.
Bedfordshire boasts some of the best youth Concert Bands and Orchestras in the country so this should prove a showcase of exceptional talent from Bedfordshire's young people.
